Ransomware Product Update 2025
CYJAX has expanded its ransomware group coverage, giving clients broader visibility and faster intelligence on emerging threats. This blog highlights the surge in global ransomware attacks and explains how this product update enhances organisational resilience in an evolving threat landscape.

Ransomware has become one of the most pervasive and financially devastating threats facing modern organisations.
In the first half of 2025 alone, there were over 3,600 ransomware attacks globally, marking a 47% increase from the same period in 2024. The average cost of a ransomware incident has surged to between $5.5 million and $6 million, factoring in ransom payments, downtime, recovery, and reputational damage.
Even more alarming, only 32% of companies that paid a ransom successfully recovered their data, while 80% of those who paid were attacked again within a month. These figures underscore a harsh reality: ransomware is no longer a question of “if,” but “when”, and the consequences are growing more severe by the day.
CYJAX provides ransomware victim reporting, notifying you of attack claims for your peers and supply chain, to help you better understand the landscape you operate in.
Over the last year CYJAX has seen a proliferation of ransomware attack groups claiming successful attacks. We’re seeing the threat from ransomware mature, moving from a few specialised actors to a broader ransomware as a service ecosystem.
In response to this change CYJAX is please to announce we have increased our coverage of ransomware groups from the top set of groups to broader collection that will continually track the changing landscape. Clients should expect to see approximately twice as many reports coming through from our release on Wednesday 8 October onwards.
