Threat intelligence is one of the few corners of UK cyber security where demand for experienced people is holding firm. Below are 10 threat intelligence and cyber intelligence roles open in the UK right now, along with the latest numbers on where the market is heading.

Why Pursue a Career in Threat Intelligence?

The global threat intelligence market was valued at USD 6.87 billion in 2025 and is projected to grow from USD 8.22 billion in 2026 to USD 31.58 billion by 2034, a CAGR of 18.3%. The UK market alone is expected to reach USD 0.33 billion by 2026. More spend on threat intelligence means more teams to build, and more people needed to run them.

Hiring is picking up again too. The UK government's Cyber security skills in the UK labour market 2026 report recorded 34,932 core cyber security job postings in 2025, up 7% on the year before. One in five UK cyber security firms now employs people in cyber threat intelligence roles. Pay is moving in the right direction as well: the average advertised salary for a core cyber role reached £60,800, rising to £70,200 in London, and 15% of roles with a published salary offered £90,000 or more.

Skills are still the bottleneck. The same report found that 57% of UK businesses have a basic technical cyber skills gap, up from 49% a year earlier. Globally,  95% of security teams have at least one skills gap, and 59% describe those gaps as critical or significant, up from 44% in 2024.

Experienced analysts are in the strongest position. Entry-level cyber postings have roughly halved since 2022, while roles asking for six to nine years' experience fell by a much smaller 23%. AI skills are also climbing fast, appearing in 9% of core cyber job adverts in 2025, more than double the year before.
